New Mexico requires all 12th-grade students to receive the meningitis vaccine. SFPS nursing staff will offer the vaccine free of charge at Capital High School on October 29. A parent or guardian must complete the sign-up form in advance for their student to receive the vaccine. Form: https://bit.ly/46Snq2o

We encourage all families to attend! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teachers, visit classrooms and see where your child learns each day, learn about course expectations and resources for a successful school year, and ask questions and build connections with our staff.

Santa Fe Public Schools continues to monitor air quality during wildfire smoke events and other air quality alerts to help protect the health and safety of students and staff.
SFPS uses AirNow.gov as its primary source for Air Quality Index (AQI) information while also considering conditions at individual school sites, as air quality can vary across the district.
Principals may move recess, physical education classes, and other outdoor activities indoors at any time based on conditions at their school. Schools do not need to wait for a districtwide directive to make adjustments when conditions warrant.
SFPS will continue to monitor air quality and make decisions with the health and safety of students and staff as our priority.

Update on Our Water Donation Drive
Thank you so much to everyone who was ready to come together and support our first responders, workers, and families affected by the Frijoles Fire. Your kindness, generosity, and willingness to help our community means so much to us. ❤️
We have received word that additional water supplies are not needed at this time. Because of this, we will not be accepting water donations today, Thursday, August 20th.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who shared our message, planned to donate, and helped spread the word. It is a beautiful reminder of how caring and generous our community is when our neighbors need us.

Due to smoke conditions and the current air quality alert for Santa Fe, Santa Fe Public Schools is calling indoor recess this morning.
We will continue to monitor air quality conditions and provide an update this afternoon.

Air Quality Update: Though smoke conditions have begun to improve on the west side of Santa Fe, air quality in most areas of the city remains in the orange, red, or purple range.
All students will remain indoors for afternoon recess today. In addition, outdoor athletic practices will not be permitted. SFPS will continue to monitor air quality conditions and make adjustments as needed. Thank you for your understanding and support as we prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff.
