Air Quality Update

Due to smoke conditions and the current air quality alert for Santa Fe, Santa Fe Public Schools is calling indoor recess this morning.

We will continue to monitor air quality conditions and provide an update this afternoon.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to protect the health and safety of our students and staff.

Air Quality Update: Though smoke conditions have begun to improve on the west side of Santa Fe, air quality in most areas of the city remains in the orange, red, or purple range.
All students will remain indoors for afternoon recess today. In addition, outdoor athletic practices will not be permitted. SFPS will continue to monitor air quality conditions and make adjustments as needed. Thank you for your understanding and support as we prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff.

Santa Fe Public Schools is excited to announce a new partnership with Holmes Elite Driving Academy!

Holmes Elite Driving Academy is offering FOUR discounted driver’s education courses for SFPS students, hosted at SFPS sites.

Program Dates:
June 29, 2026 – July 30, 2026*, M-F
(*No Classes Held: July 6, 2026 – July 10, 2026)
8:30-11:30am @ Capital High School (CHS)
8:30-11:30am @ Early College Opportunities (ECO)
12:30-3:30pm @ Capital High School (CHS)
12:30-3:30pm @ Early College Opportunities (ECO)

Program Cost: SFPS Discounted rate of $275 + tax

Registration Information:
Registration opens Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 12pm (noon) at www.holmesdriving.com
Enrollment is first come, first served, and class sizes are limited.
This program consists of 56 hours of classroom instruction only (no driving time)
Students must be 15 years old by the last day of the class in which they are enrolled.
Must be an SFPS student and attend CHS, ECO, MIMS, SFHS, or ATC
